TELLING IT LIKE IT IS !

Senators on Capitol Hill may be forced tomorrow to make a choice between approving an important defense spending bill and voting down “hate crimes” legislation. Senate Democrats are once again trying to pass a hate crimes bill by attaching it as an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill.

The hate crimes legislation, known as the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act (S. 909), would add gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability to the list of protected categories under federal hate crimes law. A vote is expected Thursday on the Defense Authorization bill and its accompanying hate crimes amendment.

Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr., chairman of the High Impact Leadership Coalition, warns the hate crimes measure will lead to more than just the prosecution of violent crimes that are deemed bias-related.

“The problem is that the way that they define violence has to do with name-calling, but has to do with an array of different things,” he explains. “And the ultimate issue is going to be that it only takes one or two lawsuits, or the threat of a lawsuit, for there to be a chilling effect on pastors from preaching these passages of the Bible like Leviticus and Romans 1, and many, many other passages as our culture slips more into darkness.”

Those scriptural passages address homosexual acts, which the Bible says God considers to be an abomination.

Jackson and other conservative activists are hoping to persuade a group of about 14 moderate senators to oppose the bill. They include Arkansas Democrats Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, Louisiana Democrat Mary Landrieu, and Republicans John McCain (Arizona) Lindsey Graham (South Carolina) and Judd Gregg (New Hampshire).

It is immoral for these kinds of antics and coercion to have to be endured. Each bill should be going though by itself, not piggybacked, and rise or fall on its own merit or lack thereof!

President Obama is jetting around speaking to countries in Africa telling them they need to bring their governments to accountability and change, take responsibility for themselves for their violence, and stop blaming the West for their plight.

Too bad the president didn’t take his own council about being accountable to the people for irresponsible change and spending!

Let’s look at the reality of his statements.

For the most part trying to bring their governments to accountability and change has brought them death and maiming. Maybe Obama should take his own advice about being accountable for his socialist changes in America. It is socialism, Marxism, and Islamic persecution that have been the basis of the majority of these people’s plights. Any corruption is connected to these factors.

Taking responsibility for one’s actions is important but not useful when other’s actions are causing the majority of the problems. There are many African countries that Islam is continuing to pursue to take over … killing and maiming to gain control. Many have already been taken over by these methods.

The West has not necessarily caused the problems but their contribution to the violence has predominately been their silence to the real truth of what is happening … trying to be politically correct so as not to offend Islam.

The truth of the persecution of people, Christian and non-Muslim, is well known but not reported by the media nor the government. Their silence is both immoral and irresponsible!

The blindness of the American public has been developing by intention since the 1960’s. Most special interest rights groups were targeted by Marxists for ideological control. (Told by a one time member of the American Communist Party.) If Marxists expressed themselves as “communists” no one would have listened to them. Instead, they worked their way into the leadership of various advocacy groups and began conning people within the groups and changing the ideology to a socialistic one. Thus, so called “women’s rights” groups could care less about the rights of conservative women, or Christian women, or women who oppose abortion, etc. To them all that matters is the socialist agenda as far as it can be advanced by women, or Blacks, or Hispanics, or the environment, etc. They are used as pawns.

The media and public school systems were also a primary target of Marxists, just as Marx exhorted them to do. Our young people, and young voters, are showing the effects of this kind of “brain washing” today. Brain washing from indoctrinated professors and teachers utilizing revisionist textbooks and materials that are tailored to the message they desire to have communicated.

This causes people, and special interest groups, today to be willing to see and embrace what they want from Obama, and at the same time steadfastly ignore what is wrong in the consequences of such actions.

I hope that enough people will come to their senses, see Obama and other liberals/socialists for the con artists they are, and where all of this is heading to, if the behavior doesn’t change and put an end to voting these crazy narcissists into office.

Christian legal group battles FDA over ‘morning after’ pill

I thought it was the FDA who was suppose to be the “safety monitors” when it came to drugs, yet the court is going to bully the FDA for the agenda of pro-abortion political activist groups over the safety of our young people?

The Alliance Defense Fund is seeking permission to intervene in a court decision ordering the Food and Drug Administration to sell the “Plan B” pill to minors.

The Plan B pill, otherwise known as the “morning-after pill,” is a very strong dose the same hormones used in oral contraceptive pills.  Some doctors believe it could cause an abortion to an expectant mother. Matt Bowman is an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund.

“This is a case where pro-abortion activist groups have put their political agenda over the health of minors by attempting to force a court to expose them to a troubling drug,” he contends.  Bowman says there is no research on what potential medical problem the Plan B pill might cause for a minor.  He adds that most minors who will be given the pill will happen without parental knowledge.

“We’re representing thousands of medical personnel to get involved in this lawsuit because they’re concerned that the court’s order will result in both parents and doctors being left out of the loop in the care of these children who are seeking these powerful drugs,” he adds.

The health and well-being of children should be more important than the political agenda of pro-abortion activist groups, Bowman concludes.  This is not the courts business … twisting arms and taking authority over those who have the legal authority.  What the court is doing here is really illegal.

When color trumps Christianity

President Obama hosted a reception at the White House celebrating LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Pride month. Black Christians should take note and learn a few things about our black president.

As they say, we are what we do.

It tells us something that Mr. Obama had no time to host an event for the National Day of Prayer. Nor did he have time to accept the invitation to convey greetings and a few remarks to the couple hundred thousand who came to Washington, as they do every January, for the March for Life.

However, the LGBT Pride event did make it onto the president’s busy schedule.

Here are parts of his remarks I think noteworthy for black Christians:

First, we now know that Mr. Obama buys into reasoning equating the homosexual political movement to the black civil rights movement: “… it’s not for me to tell you to be patient any more than it was for others to counsel patience to African Americans who were petitioning for equal rights a half century ago.”

Perhaps Obama can extend some of his famous empathy to a black Christian woman, Crystal Dixon, who lost her University of Toledo job for writing a column in her local paper challenging this premise. Dixon was fired for being uppity enough to write “… I take great umbrage at the notion that those choosing the homosexual lifestyle are ‘civil rights victims’ … I cannot wake up tomorrow and not be a black woman.”

Considering our president’s priorities, I recall a song popular during the civil rights movement: “Which Side Are You On?”

Second, Obama sees the black community as being a little slow on the uptake to grasp that homosexuality and same-sex marriage are okay. There still are those, according to him, “who don’t yet fully embrace their gay brothers and sisters …” He deals with this, he said, by talking about it in front of “unlikely audiences,” such as, “in front of African American church members.”

Maybe a lot of us black folks, still readin’ our Bibles, just haven’t had enough of that Harvard learnin’.

And, third, Obama talked about HIV/AIDS but didn’t bother to mention that it’s overwhelmingly blacks that this scourge is killing.

Why would our black president discuss HIV/AIDS and not mention that although blacks represent 12% of our population, they account for 50% of HIV/AIDS cases and half of HIV-related deaths? Or that the incidence of HIV/AIDS infection per every 100,000 people is nine times higher among blacks than whites?

Of course, it would have been bad form for Obama to sour the punch bowl at the LBGT Pride month festivities by mentioning the disproportionate toll this lifestyle takes on blacks.

Blacks, of course, made the difference in getting Proposition 8 passed in California, which defined marriage as between a man and a woman. They then switched over and voted for Obama.

Obama has said he opposes same-sex marriage. Can this really be so? He said at the White House event that he’s called for Congress to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. DOMA is the main obstacle to nationalizing legalization of same-sex marriage.

Black Christians have a lot of soul searching to do. We know the pain of black history. But we also must retain clarity that these many injustices were the result of race and color trumping Christian principles.

How can black Christians do this themselves? How can black Christians allow race and color to trump Christian principles in driving their support for a leader?

Particularly as sexually transmitted diseases kill our people, when a third of all abortions are black babies, and the only hope for future black prosperity is restoration of the black family?

I am more and more convinced that these new Democrats want as many Americans as possible living in poverty and ignorance, dependent upon government, Democrat Government, for food, clothing, shelter, heat, electric, cars, trucks, everything possible and more. This is what uninformed voters or voters on the take cause.

What is going to happen to America after the producers (taxpayers) quit working because the Democrats take too much out of their paychecks in taxes and productive work just isn’t worth it anymore? Gee, that sounds like what happened to the Soviet Union.

But seriously, just who will the Democrats tax to support the extravagant Democrat spending and the lifestyles of their voters? Democrats have pandered to those who don’t pay taxes to buy their votes, and left so few of us paying taxes, to be redistributed to those on the public dole, that Democrats are going to be in a real bind to support their paid-for voters in very short order. Then what will the Democrats do? Seize property and give it to their voters?

Oops! They already did that with GM and Chrysler! The bondholders got taken and the Unions got 55%! This stuff used to be illegal but not under these New Democrats. What happened to that “Shining City On A Hill” that Ronald Reagan spoke so proudly of?

What a sad day for America. All I can say is the American people had better wake-up and start fighting for this country, and I mean quickly, or Obama and the Democrats are rapidly going to destroy this country. They are systematically, like a Blitzkrieg, moving this country into Fascism and Stalinism. I wouldn’t have believed it were possible if I haven’t been seeing it with my own eyes. If this madness doesn’t stop the possibility of Americans rising up and supporting a Revolution is in our very near future.

Our Founding Fathers warned if Government got out of control of the people, that it would be proper to replace it and start all over again removing the power from Washington.

Liberals are accelerating their push to pass federal “hate crimes” legislation. In a letter to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chairman Pat Leahy (D-Vt.) made no bones about his plan to fast-track the bill after the July 4th recess, bypassing the normal process. His maneuvering would mean that Republicans will have no input on legislation that would have sweeping consequences for churches, charities, Christians, and criminal law. Bob Knight sums it up as a “grab bag of ways to violate genuine constitutional rights while addressing a non-issue.”

Nevertheless, the Left insists on forcing a bill through Congress that establishes “thought crimes,” gives special protection to homosexuals under the law, and paves the way for the federal government to get deeply involved in crimes on the local level. The House already passed the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act (S. 909) back in April. Now the Senate leadership is racing to do the same.

Remind them that equal justice under the law means equal protection for all!

Obama hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality.

President Barack Obama says that while he’s dedicated to expanding homosexual rights, many Americans still cling to what he calls “worn arguments and old attitudes” … sort of like clinging to our Bibles and our religion.

Those worn arguments and old attitudes Obama says Christians cling to are biblically based.  Whether people or the president agree with them or not, it is what God has instituted and He has not changed His mind.

Obviously if you are a Christian then belief in the Bible and what it says is a necessity … if you don’t then so much for a person being a Christian.  People can’t have it both ways.  Obedience to God’s Word … the Bible …for the Christian is not an option though people can make the choice to disobey.

At a recent White House celebration of Gay Pride Month, Obama said he hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality.  “There are good and decent people in this country who don’t yet fully embrace their gay brothers and sisters – not yet,” said the president.  “That’s why I’ve spoken about these issues – not just in front of you – but in front of unlikely audiences, in front of African-American church members.”

Obama acknowledged that many Americans still disapprove of homosexuality … and rightfully they should.  “There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones, who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes,” he stated.

The arguments and attitudes from a biblical perspective may be old and worn but they are true and relevant.  There is no new way to be a Christian … if you don’t like the only way then you just won’t be one!  It is not our way …  it is His way.

Obama added that Congress should repeal what he referred to as “the so-called Defense of Marriage Act” – and that his administration is working to pass a hate crimes bill and to repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on homosexuals in the military.  These are just more attacks on God’s ways being substituted by man’s ways.

The audience at the White House ceremony included Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, whom Obama introduced as a “special friend,” and other homosexual clergy.  The term homosexual clergy really is a contradiction in terms and ultimately they are deceivers, whom God will judge most severely due to their self-appointed roles as preachers and teachers.

In the coming two weeks, we likely see a major turning point in American society – the first time in history that biblically orthodox Christian beliefs could officially be placed on the wrong side of the law – with the pending vote on the anti-faith “hate crimes” bill that is expected in the Senate within the next few weeks.

Christians and pastors will be jailed just for teaching the Bible and the truth about sin … what God says is sin.

But that’s not the only congressional threat to people of faith. The latest shocker is that some in Congress want to use the Department of Defense Authorization bill in such as way that it could discriminate against pro-life servicemen and women or military recruits!

The Obama White House and the Reid/Pelosi Congress have created a flood of bills and initiatives that dramatically impact our faith and families – more than we could have planned or budgeted for. We need to defend our faith and families while exposing how the rapid overreach of government power is undermining our values.

Take a stand and tell the Senate to reject this bill.
