SOME OBAMA QUOTES . . . NEED ANY MORE?

Posted by straight shooter on May 30, 2008 under Political, Quotes, Social Concerns

This is the perfect example of why Samuel Adams said, “The public cannot be too curious concerning the character of public men.”

I wouldn’t recommend purchasing his books, but checking them out from the public library and verifying the quotes. This is a dangerous individual that has not been truthful evidently, with very much he has uttered in public. Particularly the last quote! Shame on the media for their silence.

This guy wants to be our President and control our government. Pay close attention to the last comment!! Below are a few lines from Obama’s books … his words:

From Dreams of My Father: “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”

From Dreams of My Father: “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.”

From Dreams of My Father: “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.”

From Dreams of My Father: “I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela.”

From Audacity of Hope: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

Let’s remember, Adolph Hitler was a charismatic speaker.

The state Legislature in Colorado has frankly become just about as radical and extreme as the California Legislature. In an effort that was designed to obviously appease the homosexual community by giving access to all public restrooms by people of the opposite gender there is now “Restroom” legislation.

This SB 200 is a dangerous piece of legislation with far reaching ramifications.

Who would have believed that the Colorado state Legislature and its governor would have made it fully legal for men to enter and use women’s restrooms and locker-room facilities without notice or explanation?

Now, every woman and little girl will have to fear that a predator, bisexual, cross-dresser, homosexual or even a heterosexual male now has the right to walk in and relieve himself in their presence.

This legislation isn’t just for public restrooms in public buildings, this law lists and applies to every conceivable type of organization, including restaurants, bathhouses, massage parlors, mortuaries, theaters and ‘public facilities of any kind – which includes churches!

Those who would attempt to protect females from this intrusion are subject to a fine of up to $5,000 and up to one year behind bars … so dads you can be fined and go to jail for interfering if some male walks into a restroom where your wife or child is and you try to protect them!

This is today’s government in action. For Colorado it represents a payback to Tim Gill and two other billionaires who have essentially ‘bought’ state legislators with enormous campaign contributions. Coloradans deserve better and so does the rest of America of whom this will affect.

By the way, because of the way this bill is written, it is not subject to the initiative process. There is no recourse.

So what state is next? Yours?

This is the price we pay for being uninvolved because we don’t have the time, oh yes, and apathy!

In case you are wondering check out WHO IS TIM GILL?

Consider Cheap Tomatoes
By Paul Walker

This email is from a retired former teacher whose wife is a teacher in the Riverside, California area, and has been for many, many years.

The attached is first hand knowledge…

As you all listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration there are some things that you should be aware of. My wife is in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at large southern California high school, which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socio-economic and income levels.

Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, etc. where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.

My wife tells me that 100% of the students in her school and other Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast, free lunch program. When I say free breakfast I’m not talking a glass of milk and roll… but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten.

She estimates that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight.

About 75% or more DO have cell phones.

The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for baby-sitters or having family watch their kids.

She was ordered to spend $700,000 on her department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; her budget was already substantial. She ended up buying new computers for their computer learning center; half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America

She has had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less then 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them Putas? whores and throwing things that the teachers were in tears.

Free medical, free education, free food, day care etc., etc., etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements? To my conservative friends: I hope you’re really proud of how George W. Bush has helped to sell-out this country with his pro-illegal policy. I voted for him too, but on this issue he is a disaster.

To my bleeding-heart liberal friends who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.

Higher insurance, Medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases etc., etc., etc. For me, I’ll pay more for tomatoes.

We need to wake up. The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won’t have the guts to enforce it. Does anyone in their right mind really think they will leave and return voluntarily?

There are many hardworking Hispanic/American citizens that contribute to our country and many that I consider my true friends. We should encourage and accept those Hispanics who have done it the right and legal way. It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate and an American culture that has become so weak and politically correct that we don’t have the will to do anything about it.

TRUSTING YOU TOOK TIME TO REMEMBER !

Posted by straight shooter on May 26, 2008 under Patriotism

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died while serving our nation.  There are many stories as to its actual beginnings as many planned or spontaneous gatherings went on to honor the war dead.  Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966.  It is not important who was the very first, what is important is that Memorial Day was established to honor those who gave their all.

Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, and was first observed on May 30, 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.  The first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873.  By 1890 it was recognized by all of the northern states.  The South refused to acknowledge the day, honoring their dead on separate days until after World War I, when the holiday changed from honoring just those who died fighting in the Civil War to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war.  It is now celebrated in almost every State on the last Monday in May and was passed by Congress with the National Holiday Act of 1971 to ensure a three day weekend for Federal holidays.

Unfortunately traditional observance of Memorial Day has diminished over the years.  Many Americans nowadays have forgotten the meaning and traditions of Memorial Day.  To many it is just a day off without thinking about those who fought and died for the freedom that we enjoy.  At many cemeteries, the graves of the fallen are increasingly ignored and neglected.  Most people no longer remember the proper flag etiquette for the day.  While there are towns and cities that still hold Memorial Day parades, many have not held a parade in decades.  Some people think the day is for honoring any and all dead, and not just those fallen in service to our country.

To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the National Moment of Remembrance was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3:00 PM local time for all Americans “To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to Taps.

Trust you all had a meaningful Memorial Day and did something worthwhile to memorialize those who lost their lives protecting your freedom and your way of life.

May God bless America, our troops, and our veterans.

FRANCE … STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES

Posted by straight shooter on May 19, 2008 under Political, Terrorism

How many stupid things can one country do?  Well, France does it best to stay on the top of stupid.  Their country is fast becoming overtaken by Islam.  The Muslims in France have ,and continue to riot, and make demands of France.  Yet, here France is negotiating with the Hamas terrorists, behind the back (until found out) of the the European Union, America and others who have taken a stand again terror which includes Hamas.  It won’t be long before France will be taken over by Islam.  Watch and see.

KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN YOU VOTE !

Find Out The Definition Of “Change” First . . .

Remember the election in 2006 a little over a year ago?
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high.
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon.
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratically controlled Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummeted.
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon.
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase).
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses).
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars.
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for “change” in 2006, and we got it! Change to a Democrat majority Congress … remember it is Congress that makes the law, not the President.

Quote of the Day: “My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it.” – Barack Obama.

CHANGE IT TO WHAT? … more of the same from Democrats? … Enough of this type of change.

Income Tax Statistics . . .

Taxes under Clinton 1999
Single making 30K – tax $8,400
Single making 50K – tax $14,000
Single making 75K – tax $23,250
Married making 60K – tax $16,800
Married making 75K – tax $21,000
Married making 125K – tax $38,750
Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K – tax $4,500
Single making 50K – tax $12,500
Single making 75K – tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K – tax $18,750
Married making 125K – tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates for president will return to the higher tax rates.www.taxfoundation.org/publ ications/show/151.html

It is amazing how many people who fall into the categories above think Bush is messing with them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people who fall into the categories above can’t wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don’t even know what happened.

See The Real Cost Of Illegal Immigration . . .

We have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS. I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. Included the URL’s for verification of all the following facts.

11. During the year of 2005 alone there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our southern border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the US from the southern border.

The total cost is a whopping $ 338.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR.

Are we THAT stupid? We need to restore some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement.

This should surprise no one!

An internal Federal Bureau of Investigation presentation states that counterfeit Cisco routers imported from China may cause unexpected failures in American networks. The equipment could also leave secure systems open to attack through hidden backdoors. The scope of the problem is broad and results from a complicated supply chain originating in Shen Zhen.

From a narrow project failures perspective, network problems caused by this equipment should be treated as any other hardware malfunction. Of course, the entire concept of third parties using compromised hardware to infiltrate public and private systems in the United States is another matter entirely.

Faulty networking hardware can be a nightmare to troubleshoot and fix. For example, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) location at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) suffered a failed router last year; the problem delayed 20,000 passengers before technicians successfully isolated and repaired the issue.

The following slides, pulled from the larger presentation, indicate how seriously the FBI is taking this threat to national security.

Check it out.

As costly as the breakdown of the family is to children, divorce and unwed parenting cost U.S. taxpayers at least $112 billion annually according to a study released April 15th. When calculated, the national, state and local costs add up to more than $1 trillion over the last decade. This is caused, in part, by high poverty rates of single, female-headed households, which lead to higher spending on welfare, criminal justice and education programs.

Unfortunately, as the report documents, there are fewer healthy marriages in America now than there were 25 years ago. Between 1970 and 2005, the percentage of children being raised in two-parent families dropped from 85 to 68 percent.

“This study documents for the first time that divorce and unwed childbearing – besides being bad for children – are also costing taxpayers a ton of money,” said David Blankenhorn, president of the Institute for American Values, which is associated with the study.

The principal causes of this drop were the high divorce rate and the increase in the number of out-of-wedlock births. While the number of divorces has declined slightly in recent years, the percentage of children born to unmarried mothers has continued to grow. The costs of this family fragmentation are not limited to the children. As one expert wrote, “Divorce and unwed childbearing create substantial public costs, paid by taxpayers.”

As this information emerges, it is not new news to the church – and really to society, if they would stop and take a serious look at the condition of the family in America today. If both society and the church, seeing the necessity of the family unit, would join forces and work together a huge difference could be made, that not only would be good for the family, but for all America as well.

We certainly can be doing more to help marriages and families succeed. We could invest money for marriage education and other programs to increase marriage stability as Texas recently did. They have just invested $15 million over two years and their calculations were that if they only had a 1% success rate it would save $30 million per year.

Even if you set aside the social, cultural, and moral dimensions of marriage, it is clear that government should have a vital interest in promoting healthy marriages. Healthy marriages produce people who are better able to take care of themselves and their families. Even modest increases in the number of “stable marriages” could save taxpayers a lot of money. While we will never eliminate divorce and unwed childbearing entirely, we can certainly be doing more to help marriages and families succeed.

The most important thing government can do to fight family fragmentation is to stop promoting marriage substitutes. A decline in marriage and an increase in family fragmentation coincides with the introduction of legally sanctioned substitutes for traditional marriage (like civil unions and, now, same-sex marriages). These substitutes are dangerous and counterproductive as they inevitably weaken and destabilize the legitimate family that is based on matrimony. Even the best “marriage-strengthening” program can not compete with the message “marriage doesn’t matter.”

The bottom line … if we want to make a dent in the social and economic costs of family fragmentation, the first order of business is to promote and strengthen traditional marriage and accept no substitutes.

Together our community and our churches need to invest in things that would strengthen marriage!
